OziExplorer 3D
- Quick Start Guide
Creating a 3D map
This requires the use of OziExplorer, please read the Tutorial
for detailed instructions on how to do this after you have read the Quick Start
Guide. But to get you started some example 3D maps have been provided for you to load
into OziExplorer3D.
Open an Existing 3D map
Select the button on
the toolbar.
- Navigate to the folder where the 3D maps are stored, normally
\OziExplorer\3D maps
- Select the Demo3D2.3d1 file from the example maps provided and press the Open button
- The map will be displayed and can be manipulated using the procedures
detailed below.
Rotating the Map
Mouse
- Position the mouse pointer on the map
- Hold down the left mouse button and drag the mouse, the map will rotate
around the center of the window.
Keyboard
- Use the 4 Arrow keys to rotate the map in any direction
Moving the Map
Mouse
- Position the mouse pointer on the map
- Hold down the right mouse button and drag the mouse, the map will move
with the mouse.
Keyboard
- Hold down the Shift or Alt key and then use the 4 cursor keys. Using the
Alt key scrolls the map quicker than using the Shift key.
Zooming the Map
Method 1
- Open the Map Control by pressing the button on the toolbar
- Select the Map tab
- Drag the Zoom slide with the mouse, the map will grow and shrink in size.
Method 2
Mouse
- If you have a mouse with a "Scroll Wheel" you can change the zoom by using
the wheel, make sure the map window has the focus by clicking on the map.
Keyboard
- Use the Page Up and page Down keys
Changing the Height Factor of the Map
Method 1
- Open the Map Control by pressing the button on the toolbar
- Select the Map tab
- Drag the Height Factor slide with the mouse, the height factor of the map
will change.
Method 2
Mouse
- If you have a mouse with a "Scroll Wheel" you can change the height
factor by holding down the Right mouse button while using
the mouse wheel, make sure the map window has the focus by clicking on the map.
Keyboard
- Use the + and -
keys on either the numeric or main keypad
Adding Objects to a Map
Load Waypoints
- Open a waypoint file by pressing the
button on the
toolbar
- Navigate to the folder where the waypoint (.wpt) files are stored, normally
\OziExplorer\Data
- Select the Demo2.wpt file from the example data provided and press the Open button
- The waypoints will be displayed on the map
Load Tracks
- Open a track file by pressing the
button on the
toolbar
- Navigate to the folder where the track (.plt) files are stored, normally
\OziExplorer\Data
- Select the Demo2.plt file from the example data provided and press the Open button
- The track will be displayed on the map
